Elephant In The Room
Humorous at first sight? What's an elephant doing strolling down the street? Is he lost? No! He's heading straight to your home! Meet the "Elephant In The Room." Do you spot him? What's your own “Elephant in the Room”?
I confront this "Elephant in the room" with a question:
“What's your Elephant in the Room?” “What cause ignites your activism?” “Where and how can you make a personal impact to foster sustainability?” "In our current global context, how can we best express our humanity?"
For me, demonstrating our humanity means showing compassion and exercising care for all beings, big and small, across every corner of our universe - humans, flora, fauna, and all that sustains life.
My Elephant in the room highlights the plight of wildlife. It sheds light on their struggle for survival as human expansion encroaches on their habitats and climate change disrupts spaces and way of living. It underscores the ever-changing environmental landscape.
Acknowledging the elephant in the room is the first step toward recognizing that we inhabit a shared world, where our daily actions and inactions can both positively and negatively affect the environment. By addressing this "Elephant in the Room" (our actions and inactions), we can cultivate a greater awareness of humanity's impact on the Earth and implement changes in our daily habits to ensure that we contribute to sustaining our world rather than degrading it.
I am reflected in your space?
